  • 2 heads garlic peeled and crushed

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Remove any giblets from the cavity of the turkey and pat the skin dry.
  3. Gently slide butter between the turkey skin and breast meat, then rub the remaining butter all over the turkey.
  4. Stuff the cavity with lemon, rosemary, and thyme.
  5. Tie the turkey legs together with kitchen string.
  6. Combine water, onions, lemon wedges, and garlic in the roasting pan.
  7. Place the turkey on top of the onion and garlic mixture, then season with poultry seasoning.
  8. Roast the turkey for approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours, covering with foil for the first 2 hours.
  9. Baste the turkey every 20-30 minutes after removing the foil.
  10. Let the turkey rest uncovered for at least 45 minutes before carving.
