Meatball Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, fresh breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, eggs, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, and whole milk. Gently mix until just combined.
- Roll the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side and then transfer them to a plate.
Marinara Sauce Preparation
- In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
- Add canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Nestle the browned meatballs into the simmering sauce, cover, and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until meatballs are cooked through.
- Transfer meatballs to a serving dish and garnish with fresh basil.

Notes
Avoid overworking the meat mixture to keep meatballs tender. Simmering enhances flavor significantly.
