For the Gravy
  • 4 tbsp Butter Olive oil can be used for a dairy-free version.
  • 4 tbsp Flour Substitute with cornstarch for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 cups Beef Broth Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half or coconut cream can be used for dairy-free.
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce Tamari can be substituted for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Parsley For garnish, offering a fresh touch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated onion, milk, egg, salt, black pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix gently until combined.
  3. Scoop out portions of the meat mixture and roll them into uniform 1-inch meatballs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake the meatballs for about 20 minutes or until they’re golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat, add 4 tablespoons of flour to create a roux. Whisk in beef broth, heavy cream, and soy sauce until the gravy is smooth and thick.
  6. Once the meatballs are cooked, add them into the creamy gravy, simmer on low heat for another 5 minutes.
  7. Serve the meatballs hot with creamy gravy, garnished with chopped parsley.
