Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly dust with cornstarch if desired.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and cook for 6-7 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low. Drain excess fat if needed. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Stir in honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer to blend flavors.
  4. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over them, and add butter. Let it melt and mix into the sauce.
  5. Simmer chicken in sauce for about 10 minutes until cooked through and sauce thickens. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Remove from heat and let chicken rest for a minute. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds. Serve warm with sides like rice or roasted vegetables.
