Ingredients
  

For the Tofu
  • 1 block Firm or Extra-Firm Tofu pressed and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons Cornstarch or arrowroot starch
  • 2-3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil or canola/avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt sea salt recommended
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce or Tamari
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger minced
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil or olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons Green Onions sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
For Serving
  • 2 cups Cooked Jasmine Rice or Quinoa

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press your tofu for about 10 minutes between paper towels with a heavy object to remove moisture.
  2. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a bowl, toss the cubed tofu with cornstarch and salt. Let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Mix sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes in a separate bowl.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Fry tofu cubes in a single layer for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Reduce heat to low and pour the sauce over the fried tofu, gently tossing to coat.
  4. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over cooked rice or quinoa.
