Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by thoroughly washing your cucumbers to remove any dirt or residue. Once clean, slice them into your desired shapes—either rounds or spears.
  2. For enhanced brine absorption, gently score the surface of each cucumber with a fork, creating shallow lines.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine your sliced cucumbers, fresh dill, and optional sliced garlic, onions, or peppers. Mix gently to ensure an even distribution.
  4. Sprinkle salt and sugar evenly over the cucumber mixture. Stir thoroughly and let it sit for about 1 hour at room temperature.
  5. After an hour, pour your chosen vinegar over the cucumber mixture. Toss until the cucumbers are fully coated.
  6. Transfer the cucumber mixture into clean, airtight containers, ensuring that the cucumbers are submerged in the brine. Place the containers in the fridge and chill for at least 4 hours.
  7. Your pickles can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 months. Enjoy your delicious pickles anytime!
