  2. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  3. Combine the melted butter with 2 cups of granulated sugar, 4 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder, then fold into the wet mixture.
