  • 1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound scallops fresh preferred
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter for sautéing
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup white grape juice or substitute with chicken stock or dry white wine
For the Topping
  • 1 cup grated cheese Gruyère or cheddar preferred
  • to taste teaspoon salt
  • to taste teaspoon black pepper fresh-ground preferred

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw shrimp and scallops if frozen, rinse under cold water, and pat dry.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Fold in shrimp and scallops, sauté for about 3 minutes until shrimp is pink and scallops are opaque.
  4. Pour in white grape juice, simmer for 2 minutes, then add heavy cream, salt, and black pepper, stirring until combined.
  5. Transfer the seafood mixture into a greased baking dish and top with grated cheese.
  6. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve.
