  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Choose pure for authentic taste.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Sugar-free option can be used.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Cream together 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and ½ cup of softened unsalted butter until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix in 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  3. Gradually add in half of the 15.25-ounce box of yellow cake mix, then the remaining cake mix until thick and sticky.
  4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Shape the chilled dough into balls and coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set and centers are soft.
  8. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Decorate with sprinkles if desired.
