Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by heating ¼ cup of your chosen oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add ½ pound of trimmed green beans. Stir-fry them vigorously for about 5 minutes until they are blistered and tender, ensuring they don’t burn by moving them continuously.
- While the beans are cooking, take a mixing bowl and combine ¼ cup of soy sauce, ¼ cup of chicken or vegetable broth, ½ teaspoon of cornstarch, ½ teaspoon of sesame oil, and 2 cloves of finely chopped garlic. Whisk everything together until the cornstarch is dissolved, creating a smooth sauce.
- Once the green beans are nicely blistered, remove them from the heat and pour the garlic sauce over the beans in the skillet. Quickly toss the beans with the sauce, making sure each one is evenly coated. Return the skillet to the heat for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
- Remove from heat and transfer the deliciously coated Chinese green beans to a serving dish. Serve immediately for best flavor.

Notes
Maintain high heat while stir-frying for a beautiful blistered texture. Customize heat with chili oil or fresh chilis as desired.
