  • 1 teaspoon lactic acid
  • 1 teaspoon malic acid
  • 1 teaspoon sodium malate
For the Flavoring and Coloring
  • 1 teaspoon artificial flavor for green apple taste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric for coloring
  • 1 teaspoon FD&C Blue No. 1 color additive

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine glucose syrup and sugar over medium heat. Stir gently until dissolved and slightly bubbling, about 5–7 minutes.
  2. Gradually whisk in gelatin into the warm mixture, stirring until fully dissolved, approximately 3–5 minutes.
  3. Mix in citric acid, lactic acid, and malic acid. Add desired food coloring until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour the mixture into silicone molds, filling them to the brim. Allow to set at room temperature for 4–6 hours.
  5. Once set, remove from molds and if desired, roll in granulated sugar to enhance sweetness.
  6. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
