For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Maple syrup is a great vegan substitute

  • 1 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
For the Egg Wash

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter, then mix in honey and kosher salt.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over asparagus and season with kosher salt.
  4. Unroll the puff pastry on a floured surface and slice into four squares.
  5. In a bowl, combine the beaten egg with honey and butter mixture for the egg wash.
  6. On each pastry square, layer prosciutto, seasoned asparagus, and white cheddar.
  7. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal, brushing with egg wash.
  8. Transfer to the baking sheet, sprinkle with black pepper, and bake for 14-18 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
