- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with unsalted butter.
- Tear sweet bread into 1-inch pieces and scatter in the prepared baking dish.
- Whisk eggs in a large bowl, then add milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until creamy.
- Pour custard mixture over torn bread and press down with a spatula. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Fold cream cheese and chocolate chunks into the bread mixture gently.
- Sprinkle remaining chocolate over the top of the mixture.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until the top is golden brown and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Allow cooling for 15-20 minutes before serving.
