Ingredients
  

For the Crust and Crumble
  • 1 cup Butter unsalted, melted
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar can substitute with coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract can substitute with almond extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour can use whole wheat for added fiber
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
For the Apple Filling
  • 4 cups Apples mixed Granny Smith and Honeycrisp, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon can substitute with pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg freshly grated is best
For the Caramel Drizzle
  • 1 cup Salted Caramel Sauce store-bought or homemade

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press two-thirds into the baking pan to form the crust.
  4. Bake the crust for 10 minutes to set.
  5. Meanwhile, peel and slice the apples. Toss them with cinnamon and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
  6. Once the crust is done, distribute the apple mixture evenly over it, then drizzle with caramel sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  9. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
