Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press two-thirds into the baking pan to form the crust.
- Bake the crust for 10 minutes to set.
- Meanwhile, peel and slice the apples. Toss them with cinnamon and nutmeg in a separate bowl.
- Once the crust is done, distribute the apple mixture evenly over it, then drizzle with caramel sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture evenly over the top.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing.
