Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the ham by removing it from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and place a cup of broth in the roasting pan.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the unsalted butter and honey until melted. Stir in Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and spices. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Place the ham in the roasting pan cut-side down. Brush with honey butter mixture, reserving some for later. Cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake the ham in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours until the internal temperature reaches 120°F (49°C).
  5. Prepare the brown sugar glaze by mixing remaining honey butter, brown sugar, crushed pineapple, dijon mustard, and orange juice in a saucepan and warming over medium heat.
  6. Once the ham's temperature is met, increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Brush the baked ham with the prepared brown sugar glaze.
  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 25-30 minutes until caramelized. Baste with pan juices every 10 minutes.
  8. Apply your chosen dry spice rub over the ham and return to the oven for another 10-15 minutes until crispy.
