Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine softened butter, egg, and buttermilk. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold together until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the coffee cake batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.
