Step-by-Step Instructions for Spicy Voodoo Shrimp
  1. In a large bowl, toss the peeled and deveined large shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and optional cayenne pepper. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a spacious skillet over medium heat, combine olive oil and unsalted butter until melted. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery, sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened. Add garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, add stock and Worcestershire sauce, deglazing the pan. Sprinkle thyme and oregano, simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  4. In a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and heat. Cook marinated shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
