- Boil the water in a medium saucepan.
- Add the tea leaves and boil for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the baking soda and boil for an additional 2 minutes.
- Introduce the star anise, crushed cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick, and let boil for 1 minute.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Blend in the whole milk and increase heat to medium, stirring constantly.
- Once boiled and pink, strain the mixture into cups.
- Sweeten with sugar or honey and garnish with crushed nuts.
