For the Green Beans
  • 1 pound Green Beans Fresh is best; use frozen directly if needed.
For the Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic Substitution: Garlic powder may work, but fresh garlic packs more punch.
  • 1 whole Lemon Use both juice for the sauce and slices for garnishing.

  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Omit if you desire a milder flavor.

Equipment

  • Skillet

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Thaw and pat tilapia fillets dry. Season with salt and pepper. Trim green beans, mince garlic, juice, and slice lemon.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil. Sauté green beans for 4-6 minutes until bright green and crisp-tender. Transfer to a plate to keep warm.
  3. Add olive oil and butter to the skillet. Sear tilapia for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Set aside.
  4. Lower heat to medium and add remaining butter until melted. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add lemon juice and broth or wine; simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return tilapia and green beans to the skillet, adding lemon slices. Cover and simmer for 3-5 minutes until fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley or dill, and serve immediately, drizzling the sauce over the dish.
