Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and cut them into 1-inch pieces, halving smaller ones.
  2. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and water in a small bowl until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Heat a tablespoon of neutral oil in a medium-sized non-stick pan over medium heat for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the prepared potato pieces and sauté for 5-6 minutes until golden.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the sautéed potatoes, coating them well, and cover the pan.
  6. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  7. Remove the lid and let the liquid simmer to thicken into a glaze for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Check tenderness by slicing a potato with a fork; if needed, add a splash of water and cook longer.
  9. Transfer the glossy potatoes to a serving dish and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
