Ingredients

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream Provides rich creaminess; substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup whole milk Adds smooth texture; can use low-fat milk but may alter creaminess.
  • 3/4 cup sugar Sweetens the ice cream; adjust to taste if using sweetened condensed milk.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavors; keep minimal for balance.
Flavoring
  • 2 tablespoons rose water Infuses the ice cream with floral notes; use sparingly for subtlety.
  • 1/2 cup pistachios Adds crunch; unsalted, roasted pistachios work best for optimal flavor.
Optional Enhancements
  • 1 drop food coloring For aesthetic appeal; a touch of pink enhances the rose theme.

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • ice cream maker
  • Airtight container

Method

Ice Cream Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, a pinch of salt, and rose water. Continue mixing until the sugar is fully dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.
  3. Once chilled, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn for approximately 25 to 30 minutes until it thickens to a soft-serve consistency.
  4. During the last 5 minutes of churning, incorporate the chopped roasted pistachios into the ice cream mixture and gently fold them in.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container, smoothing the top with a spatula. Seal the container and place it in the freezer for at least 4 hours to firm up.
