For the Creamy Sauce

  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Any melty cheese like Monterey Jack works too.

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent and fragrant.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula and cooking for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in 3 cloves of minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of uncooked long-grain white rice, 2 cups of beef broth, and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, along with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  6. In a separate saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, whisk in 1 cup of milk, and gradually stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese and ½ cup of grated Parmesan until creamy.
  7. Pour the cheese sauce over the beef and rice mixture and stir on low heat for a few minutes.
  8. Serve portions on plates and garnish with parsley if desired.
