  • 1.5 pounds Flank Steak or sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce for marinating
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda for marinating
  • 1 cup Cornstarch for coating
For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce preferably low-sodium
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar dark brown for richer flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain to about 1/4 inch thickness. Marinate with soy sauce and baking soda for 30 minutes.
  2. Coat the marinated beef with cornstarch until well coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Stir-fry the beef in batches for 2–3 minutes until browned and crispy. Set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, stir-fry minced ginger and garlic for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce and brown sugar; stir until dissolved and slightly thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and stir to coat with sauce. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve hot with fluffy rice and stir-fried vegetables.
