Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the filling by mixing chopped ham, shredded cheddar, and Dijon mustard in a bowl.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick and spread the filling evenly over it, leaving edges clear.
  3. Roll the pastry tightly into a log, then chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Slice the chilled log into 1-inch pinwheels and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and brush the pinwheels with egg wash before adding optional sesame seeds on top.
  6. Bake the pinwheels for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let the pinwheels cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving.
