Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and ¾ cup of warm water. Stir gently to dissolve and let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, along with ¼ cup of plain yogurt and 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee. Mix until a rough dough forms, then knead it on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
- Place your kneaded dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release air bubbles, then divide it into 8 equal pieces and roll each into an oval shape.
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it. Place one naan in the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, then flip and cook the other side for an additional minute.
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of melted butter with 3-4 cloves of minced garlic. Brush this mixture over each naan and garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley.

Notes
Always ensure yeast is fresh. Naan tastes best when enjoyed warm. Store properly to maintain texture.
