Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Can substitute lean ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • 2 tbsp All-Purpose Seasoning Use your favorite burger seasoning for variation.
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Adjust amount to preference.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce can be an alternative for a different flavor profile.
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh garlic gives better taste compared to powdered.
For the Toppings
  • 8 slices Bacon (cooked and crumbled) Pre-cut bacon into bite-sized pieces for quicker cooking.
  • 1 cup Diced Onions Red onions may be used for a milder taste.
  • 1/2 cup Whiskey Substitute with beef broth or apple cider for a no-alcohol version.
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce Use your favorite brand; 'Sweet Baby Ray’s' suggested.
For the Sliders
  • 8 buns Slider Buns Brioche or Hawaiian Sweet Rolls are recommended.
  • 2 tbsp Butter Can use olive oil as an alternative.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • Griddle

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with your all-purpose seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, then form into 8 patties that are about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the crumbled bacon. Fry bacon until crispy, about 5–7 minutes, then remove and let it drain, reserving about a tablespoon of bacon grease.
  3. In the same skillet with reserved grease, add butter and place the beef patties. Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until browned and nearly cooked through.
  4. Return patties to the skillet for a short rest. Using the same skillet, add diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing over medium heat until onions are golden, about 4–5 minutes. Pour in whiskey and allow to reduce for 2-3 minutes. Stir in BBQ sauce and simmer to meld flavors.
  5. Return the cooked patties to the skillet, gently coat each in the sauce, and warm for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Toast the insides of the slider buns on a griddle over medium-low heat until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Assemble sliders with a bacon-topped patty on the buttered bun, top with extra sauce and secure with a pick.
